Our Mission

Music is nourishment.

Children learn better when exposed to music, and seniors better maintain cognitive skills by practicing music. People connect with others more easily in musical environments and heal faster when played music.

Unfortunately, these musical experiences can be hard to come by in rural areas. From in-school music education to community music ensembles and programs, rural communities, separated from major arts performing centers and universities, have a harder time taking advantage of all that music has to offer.

An all-volunteer organization, the Anna’s Bay Center for Music works to make music, and all of its benefits, more accessible in rural areas. Our mission is music that builds community.

Anna’s Bay’s community-building music programs are supported primarily by individual donations, ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and grants.
