Black Roses: A Nordic Banquet
Mysterious and unforgettable music from Scandinavia, including works by Grieg, Sibelius and Grøndahl!

The music of the north is as rich and multifaceted as its literature: Like the works of Ibsen, Andersen or Strindberg, it is by turns intimate and expansive, harsh and sweet, stoic and sentimental. In a setting reminiscent of Scandinavia – pine forests, a majestic fjord – we perform music by the finest Scandinavian composers: famous masterpieces by Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius, as well as hidden gems by Wilhelm Stenhammar and Agathe Backer Grøndahl. Like roses, these works are each compelling, poignant, and unforgettable.

Smilin’ Scandinavians Polka Party
Seattle’s Number One Polka Band will prove just how much fun Scandinavians are capable of!
Approximately 3 hours long– admission includes pre-event dance lesson (6:30 PM)
The Smilin' Scandinavians, widely regarded as Seattle's #1 polka band, are famous for spirited music and their own irreverent brand of polka fun. Now they bring that fun to Annas Bay, providing the music for our much-fêted, highly-rated, often-imitated but never-replicated Polka Party. The Scandinavians bring their own polka-riffic idiom, a mix of Midwestern polka, Scandinavian folk, traditional country western, Dixieland and swing. Come early for a free dance lesson so you can practice your moves, then taste one of our selection of fine beers, and let the polka-ing begin! A toe-tappin’ good time!
