AN INTRODUCTION
Who are the Supporters of Note?
The Supporters of Note are the corps of volunteers who provide a variety
of services essential to the success of the Annas Bay Music Festival,
and who represent the Festival in a positive way to the
community.
What is required to be a volunteer?
All that we ask is that you enthusiastically support the vision of the
Annas Bay Music Festival.
No special skills are required, but if you have a talent that could benefit
the Festival we would
love to know about it. Also, since we are reaching out to the community
for support, we ask
that you show your support by being a member of the Festival.
What will be my duties?
Two types of programs are being scheduled at the present: promotional
events (fund-raising
house parties and mini-concerts at a variety of venues) and Festival concerts
(starting in August).
The tasks associated with the promotional events are:
- Hospitality: this will include greeters, information table attendants, refreshment table attendants, etc.
- “Roadies”: from time to time we will need to provide help with set-up and breakdown (moving furniture, setting up chairs, etc.), and providing guidance in parking areas.
The tasks associated with Festival concerts will include:
- Front-of-House Personnel: house manager, ticket takers and ushers.
- “Roadies”: same as for promotional events.
For both types of events we will be looking for:
- Team Captains: we will want one person to be in charge of each crew. This person will be briefed on the needs of the event and will be the point of communication between the event host, the volunteers, the Festival Staff, and the musicians.
- Housing Hosts: for the most part, the musicians will be housed at Harmony Hill. From time to time, however, there will be a need for overflow housing. If you have a guest room or a guesthouse, would be willing to provide a continental breakfast, and would like the opportunity to discover that musicians are real people, our housing coordinator would love to have you on the list.
In the future, as the Annas Bay Music Festival grows, there will be ever evolving opportunities for volunteer support. Please consider what you might be able to contribute and complete the following form.
